The Magic Mail Story
The Magic Mail story is kind of a long one. So we will share with you the full version and the short version.
The Short version
The Magic Mail mailboxes were invented by Santa and the Toymaster hundreds of years ago so that the two of them and their elves could communicate between the North Pole and the Kingdom of Toyland. Most people probably don't know that it was the Toymaster who taught Santa how to make toys and that it was also from Toyland that Santa first began bringing toys to boys and girls. As Christmas spread around the world though, it became harder for Santa to deliver all the toys with just a horse. Santa knew he had to find a faster way to deliver all the toys. Rumors about Artic elves that flew around on reindeer sent Santa on a journey to the North Pole. As you know Santa stayed and set up his workshop at the North Pole, but being so far away from Toyland made it hard to talk to the Toymaster about toy orders . So Santa traveled back to Toyland where the Toymaster, with wood from the Enchanted Forest and Magic Dust from the North Pole, made the first two Magic Mail mailboxes.
The mailboxes have not only been used between Toyland and the North Pole, but they are used to communicate between the workshop, the reindeer barn, Santa's house, the Magic Dust mines and other North Pole buildings. Now Santa wants to bring this magic to all his Elf Apprentices so you can send your letter magically to the North Pole!

A True Story of Santa Claus &
The Magic Mail Story *Part 1 The Calling
It was nearly a year ago that I got whisked into this magical adventure of training to be an elf and it’s been on this elfish adventure that I learned about the Magic Mail mailboxes and the amazing true story of how Santa, well, became Santa.
The story begins hundreds of years ago when Santa was better known as St. Nicholas the giver. He had received this reputation as the giver, because he had on more than one occasion thrown money through windows of people who were in desperate need of it. St. Nicholas gave because he knew that giving created a special magic that helped heal many sorrows and brought joy into persons lives. The more St. Nicholas gave, the more he knew it was his calling to give.
Then one day St. Nicholas was approached by a man dressed as a pauper, who told him he had a proposition for him. The man told St. Nick that he lived in a magical place called The Kingdom of Toyland, where he and his helpers spent their days making toys for boys and girls. He had heard of St. Nicholas’ love of giving and he wanted St. Nick to go back to Toyland with him and help him by giving out the toys to boys and girls far and wide. St. Nick doubted such a farfetched tale from such a humble looking man at first. However the man faithfully insisted that his story was true and eventually St. Nicholas saw a magical sparkle in his eye that revealed the man’s true royal identity.
So St. Nick still not knowing the man’s name, but knowing he was telling the truth traveled with him over the Emerald Mountains and through the Black Forest to the Kingdom of Toyland. After their long journey they arrived at a small but charming castle surrounded by an abandoned village. At the castle they were happily greeted by small elf like men proclaiming the Toymaster is back and he has St. Nickolas! Then the elfish men and the Toymaster took St. Nickolas through the castle to their toy workshop and St. Nick was in awe of all the toys that were being stored in every nook and cranny of the castle. He became very excited when he thought about how much magic it would bring into the world by giving these toys away. When the doors to the great hall open there lay before St. Nick a woodworking shop bigger than anything he could have ever imagined and it was at that moment he knew he had found his true destiny.

Part 2 The Magic
Over the next few months St. Nick started to learn how truly enchanted this hidden kingdom was, as he and the Toymaster set to work in earnest on their mission. The two of them soon became faithful friends and St. Nick asked his friend to teach him how to make toys also. The Toymaster was delighted at how fast St. Nicholas became a skillful toymaker and that St. Nicks joyful personality made the workshop a very merry place to work. St. Nick also grew to adore the elves and they grew to love him. St. Nick had never seen anyone who loved to work as much as the Toyland elves. It was never drudgery to them, because they always made it so much fun. St. Nicks booming laughter could be heard though the workshop as he laughed at their antics.
St. Nick and the Toymaster knew that they would follow the example of wiser men than them and deliver the toys at Christmas, but how was still a mystery. St. Nick had a spirited White horse he could ride, but how would he carry all the toys? The Toymaster believed he knew someone who might be able to help them, so he traveled to go speak with them. Two days later he returned with a large flour sack. St. Nick was confused at how this ratty old flour sack was going to help them; besides he already had much nicer sack made with satin and silk. However He was completely amazed when the Toymaster started putting toy after toy into the sack and it never got full! Santa had only read of miracles such as this and he knew that they must be doing something of extreme importance to be a part of such magic.
With his magic toy sack full of all the toys and riding on his white horse, St. Nick was able to deliver toys to the children in all the villages near the Kingdom of Toyland that Christmas eve. His horse sped from house to house as St. Nick left the toys on children’s doorsteps and window sills. In the morning they returned to Toyland through the secret passageway completely exhausted, but very excited about how successful their first Christmas was. In the villages stories about the man who left gifts on children’s doorsteps and window sills soon spread beyond the villages. Even the children in villages that St. Nick hadn’t been able to visit soon began spreading rumors that he would visit them next time. When these rumors got back to Toyland St. Nick and the Toymaster started looking for a way to be able to deliver toys to more boys and girls. This time the Toymaster looked to his head elf Pennington for the answer. Pennington brought the Toymaster and St. Nick a very old looking map. The map was an Elf Hole map. Pennington explained that elf holes were all over and allowed elves to go from one village to another by just stepping through an elf hole. Normally only elves could see these holes, but with the map St. Nick would know where they were. Pennington was also having a special elfin made outfit for St. Nick that would allow him to travel through the elf holes. The map and special outfit would help him cut down on travel time between villages, helping St. Nick be able to spread magic to nearly all the children that celebrated Christmas. This became a magical time for St. Nick, the Toymaster, and Toyland. As they were now able to deliver toys far and wide, the legend of St. Nick grew along with the joy and love of Christmas.
All year long Toyland was making toys that would all be delivered on Christmas Eve. However as the years started going by, St. Nick started to realize that the time in Toyland was actually standing still. St. Nick knew everything about Toyland was magical, but on a slow walk through the abandoned village surrounding the castle, the Toymaster told him the story of the Kingdom and how it came to be. It was a sad story that had an old wizard, elves, fairies, and mean hearted king in it. In the story St. Nick also learned that, because of the magic of the three realms, as long as he lived in Toyland he would not ever grow any older. With this story St. Nick grew closer to his friend and even surer of the importance of their mission.
The children who celebrated Christmas was growing and growing all the time. It was getting hard again to deliver all the toys in one night. It was also getting harder to make enough toys for all the Children. This was the center of conversation around Toyland for a few years, when finally the Toymaster had the idea that if they wouldn’t have enough present for all the children then only good boys and girls should get presents. St. Nick liked the idea of rewarding good children, but wasn’t sure how he would be able to know which ones were good or bad. This question would take another year before the answer would come to them in the form of a stranger. The rough looking Strangers name was Belsnickle and he was known as a seer.
